Soviet Destroyer Gremyashchy

The most distinguished representative of the Gnevny-class destroyers (Project 7) built as part of the 1933–1938 naval shipbuilding program. She was developed on the basis of the Italian Maestrale-class destroyer drawings. The designers kept the propulsion arrangement and the general architecture, but all mechanisms and equipment were produced domestically. The ship was praised for enhanced artillery, sophisticated fire control instruments, and reliable propulsion. Gremyashchy completed 90 combat missions, escorted 63 convoys, and repelled 112 air attacks bringing down 12 enemy aircraft. In 1943, the ship earned a Guards title.
